Grouping accounts
Path in CC5: System settings - Contracts - Account types
You can get a better overview and a more organized chart of accounts by grouping several accounts under one account type.
The numbers will then appear in the journal report for companies that use this chart of accounts / account code combination.

-
Go to System settings - Contracts - Account types.
-
Click Create new list.
-
Give the list a name under Title.
-
Save the list.
The list is now created but still empty. Click Edit to add account types.
Tip!
You can also copy existing account type lists. This saves you from having to re-enter all codes when you want to create a new list.

-
Go to System settings - Contracts - Account types.
-
Open the list you want to use. You will find the account names on the left-hand side and an empty field for account types on the right-hand side.
-
Enter the account type numbers you want to use next to the accounts in question. Use the same numbers for accounts you want to group.
-
Save the list.
The list is now created. To use the account types, link the list to your chart of accounts.

-
Go to System settings - Contracts - Chart of accounts.
-
Open the chart of accounts you want to use.
-
Under Code list, pick the account type list that shall be applied.
-
Save.
The journal report for companies using this chart of accounts has now an extra column for account types.
